United States History
The materials and inter actives that you will see presented on this web site are based on the idea that the best way to teach the past is to tell mysteries rather than stories. You will see that the course is organized around cases rather than traditional units. With each case there is a case question. This is the driving question that students are trying to answer. To solve the case, they must be able to answer the question. The cases are divided into tasks. The tasks are focused on questions that students need to answer in order to solve the case. What would normally be key events and people are now clues and witnesses.
Nothing that is provided here is in final form. You will see mistakes and you may discover some problems with the interactive activities. One of the reasons for creating this site was the collaboration that comes from constructive input. Please let me know about problems you find and suggestions you have for improving the materials.
